The New Zealand Young Writers Festival (NZYWF), is a literary-focused festival held annually in the heart of Ōtepoti/Dunedin. Proudly produced by Dunedin Fringe, the festival welcomes young writers, aged 15-35, of all kinds to celebrate a diverse range of wordsmithing including slam poetry, playwriting, songwriting, short fiction, novels, zines, screenwriting, poetry, journalism, blogging, critical content creation, podcasts, review writing, and more.
NZYWF is committed to celebrating queer, BIPOC and disabled perspectives - and we welcome everyone to take part. We are learning more about how to make our spaces more accessible, both in-person and online.
The festival is by young writers, for young writers, but audiences of all ages - from curious young minds to literary loving adults - are welcome. Join us in celebrating Aotearoa’s next generation of literary talent!

Fi-Sci Limited initially formed to undertake consultancy for those who sought to identify, and evaluate fibre, yarn, fabric, and product variables of importance in product development. With the subsequent closure of Clothing and Textile Sciences at the University of Otago, Fi-Sci Ltd evolved into a vehicle for the continuation of a product development collaboration among researchers and a PhD candidate at the University of Otago (Ao NZ), a dermatologist (SYD, Australia), and a highly skilled commercial knitter (AKL, AoNZ).
Today Fi-Sci Ltd continues to support science informed product development and is aiming to bring a new science informed health tech product to the marketplace. Interest in this work reflects the increasing numbers of individuals living with the discomfort and distress associated skin conditions.
The outcome of our product development will be of initial interest to the parents of the 39% of infants and 1:3 children who develop eczema (EAA, 2025). Ultimately customers will be those engaged in both health care treatment prescription and those members of the general population undertaking on-going treatment at home.
