Introducing the Business:
Village Wise is a social impact start-up based in Ōtepoti Dunedin, developing a digital platform called MidStream to support whānau and disabled people (tangata whaikaha) to access care more easily.
Our mission is to reduce the stress, delays, and complexity whānau face when navigating support systems by making personalised care, budget planning, and service matching available in one simple app.
What makes us unique is our deep local research, co-design approach, and tech-enabled method that blends health, social service, and cultural insight. We have strong networks across the NGO, disability, and innovation ecosystems. Our main customers are whānau, care workers, and system funders.
What the Business needs:
Intern One: UX/UI Design
Help refine the user interface of MidStream using real-world feedback from local whānau and stakeholders. Tasks include wireframing, prototyping, and improving accessibility and responsiveness of key user journeys.
Intern Two:Full Stack Development
Work alongside our developer to implement and optimise features such as care planning, notifications, and user dashboards. Ideal for someone familiar with React, Node.js, or Firebase.
Intern Three: Customer Insights & Marketing
Support engagement with users and build marketing insights through surveys, interviews, and social media. Help translate product benefits into clear value propositions for each customer segment.
