Step 4: Funding – how to access the funding

You can submit the documentation to access the funding any time after the internship is over but the final deadline is 31 May 2024. Submitting your documents earlier in the year is really helpful. It allows us to provide data to funder's on the number of jobs created via the programme, and enables us to pay you in a timely way.

The funding of $1,000 per intern (excl. GST) is paid once you have submitted the required business report and ensured that your intern has submitted their intern report. Businesses also need to provide an invoice and payroll records for each intern.

The business and intern reports can be completed online here: Reports Page

  • businesses must complete a report about each intern;
  • interns must complete a report about each business.

The feedback collected guides continuous improvement and on-going research of the programme.

In addition to the reports, each business must provide:

  • A tax invoice for the intern/s (please include the interns name/s) against "Dunedin City Council" quoting the order number provided by the DCC
  • Payroll records showing:
    • payment dates;
    • payment amounts.

Please submit the required information to Dunedin City Council, Enterprise Dunedin by 31 May 2024.
