What the Business needs:

Quantity Surveying Intern (1 Position) CPB Contractors is offering an exciting opportunity for an aspiring Quantity Surveyor to gain hands-on experience on the New Dunedin Hospital, one of New Zealand’s largest and most significant health infrastructure projects. This internship is more than just work experience. It is an opportunity to be part of a live construction environment, work alongside experienced commercial professionals, and gain insight into how commercial decisions shape project outcomes.

Duration: 3-month summer internship

Dates: November 2026 to 1 March 2027

Location: Dunedin The successful intern will support the commercial team with project cost management activities, assist with subcontractor engagement and procurement processes, and gain exposure to contract administration and cost reporting. The role will provide valuable insight into how large-scale construction projects are planned, managed, and delivered, while offering exposure to real-time project challenges and decision-making.

This opportunity is ideally suited to a student currently studying Quantity Surveying or a related discipline who has a strong interest in construction and commercial management, a willingness to learn, and a positive, team-focused attitude. The intern will receive mentorship from experienced professionals and develop practical skills that will provide a strong foundation for a future career in the construction industry.
