Backend Development Intern

Are you a natural problem solver with a passion for ones and zeros? A lover of all things tech and digital? If you have coding skills, persistence, and a desire to assist our digital team in coding, testing, and debugging websites, web apps, platforms and eCommerce solutions - this opportunity might be for you.

You’ll be working closely with our experienced team of developers, alongside other creatives, marketers, storytellers, designers and project managers. All of us, working together to take our clients' stories to the world. We’re looking for someone who is: Curious, driven and a problem solver. Able to think independently and objectively. A solid decision-maker with a team-first and entrepreneurial spirit. Comfortable with a bit of creative madness in our fast-paced and open-plan environment. Able to follow a brief, stick to deadlines and budgets, take direction and be self-motivated. Willing to find answers independently when you don’t have them instantly. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of coding languages, including PHP and JavaScript (frameworks are a bonus). Basic programming experience. Understanding of databases (MySQL) and operating systems (Linux). A love for problem-solving and the ability to pick up new technologies and software quickly. Examples of how you’ve applied your skills, this can be personal projects, class assignments, websites, code samples or an application. Bonus: An eye for design would be great but not essential.
