Introducing the Business:
Architecture van Brandenburg is an award-winning architecture and design studio based in Dunedin, New Zealand, working across architecture, interiors, masterplanning and bespoke design.
Our purpose is to create architecture that enriches the human experience and forms a meaningful connection between people, place and the natural world. Our work is driven by curiosity, research and experimentation, drawing inspiration from nature, materiality, craft and emerging technologies.
What distinguishes the practice is an organic, highly considered approach to design. Rather than beginning with predetermined architectural forms, we seek solutions that evolve from their context, purpose and environment. This approach extends from initial sketches and physical models through to material research, prototyping, fabrication and construction.
The studio has experience delivering projects in New Zealand and internationally, ranging from private residences and hospitality to large-scale commercial, cultural and masterplanning projects. Our clients include private individuals, developers, businesses and organisations seeking distinctive, enduring architecture and who value design excellence, innovation, craftsmanship and a collaborative approach to creating places with a strong sense of identity.
